It’s been a long time since I visited my blog.
Partly because I lead a fairly monotonous (that’s a posh way of saying “dull”, or “humdrum”) life, but also because there hasn’t been too much to celebrate. On a personal front, both my folks are in their 70s and have been on health-related rollercoasters, though they are now well on the road to recovery. That’s a LOT to be thankful for. Business-wise, there has surprisingly (and mercifully!) been no noticeable decline in the demand for the sort of music our company publishes, and seemingly no shortage of people out there performing it. Demands on my time, though, have meant some personal disappointments – I had wanted The David Pohle Complete Edition finished by the end of 2010, and I had wanted to be some ways towards meeting that aim for The Christian Geist Edition by the end of next year. With a little luck – and a helluva load of hard work! – the Geist will get done. It needs to – there is a plan to perform all the surviving music in Copenhagen in November 2011
This is traditionally a time of year for looking both backwards and forwards. A time for learning lessons from the past, and making plans for the future. I dread the conclusions I might reach this Hogmanay…
